"To make meaningful change, we must challenge our own beliefs and work to create a world where everyone is empowered." — bell hooks

Sydney holds an Honours Bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph, with a minor in Family and Child Studies. Driven by a fascination with human behavior and a deep-rooted passion for addressing mental health challenges, Sydney has dedicated their career to supporting those in need. Before transitioning into the field of counseling, Sydney worked at a major Canadian bank. Seeking to align their career with their values, they returned to school and completed the Assaulted Women and Children's Counselor/Advocate program at George Brown College. Since then, Sydney has gained invaluable experience doing frontline work with survivors of gender-based violence. Passionate about advocacy and empowerment, Sydney is committed to helping individuals build their own toolkits for resilience and growth. They are particularly focused on creating positive social change and work from a client-centered, strength-based perspective that aligns with harm reduction principles and sustainable livelihoods. In their spare time, Sydney enjoys iced coffee, practicing yoga, reading, and spending quality time with their cat.
