Samarah is an advocate and a biochemistry student as McMaster University. As someone who grew up initially lacking an understanding of the language and distinctions around wellbeing until later on, she hopes to break down the stigma around mental health and lay down the foundations of how to be there for yourself or for others, especially for youth in similar situations. Samarah volunteers her time with Jack.org as a public speaker doing exactly that, building literacy and participating in advisory opportunities to improve programming for young people across Canada. She hopes to continue finding ways to bridge the gaps between education, equity and wellness. In her free time, she enjoys riding her bike, (attempting to) knit, and cooking pasta.
